An update regards lessons, as I've had some l people ask, as they've seen some instructors working.

Currently we are still not allowed to give driving lessons to the general public due to the current guidelines of social distancing and the amount of people we are allowed to be in contact with. We are allowed to give lessons to key workers who have a proven need to pass their test and have a test booked.

The DVSA were going to be allowing Theory tests as of the 1st June but those that were booked are being cancelled cancelled with no new date given for when they will resume.

Practical driving tests still aren’t available to book and we have no firm date from the DVSA for when examiners will return to work. There are some students who previously had tests rescheduled to June and July but until we have notice that the examiners are returning It is wise to assume these tests will also be rescheduled. Unfortunately the DVSA are giving very late notification of rescheduled tests.

Some good news though : provisional driving licences can now be applied for on line. 😊

The DVSA (Driving and Vehicle Standards Agency) recommending that you should not be taking private practice in your own vehicles as it is non essential travel regardless of us now being able to drive further for exercise or essentials.

You will see some instructors who are out teaching key workers as currently they are the only people allowed to apply for practical tests, if they already have passed their theory.

You may also see instructors in their cars going to the shops etc. Please dont confuse this with them doing lessons and remember that our instructor cars are also our only vehicles, and so therefore you will see us out in them.

We currently haven't been given an exact date as to when we can resume lessons, remember this is a pandemic that has never happened before and therefore no-one knows what will happen.

We know it's frustrating for you, as it is for us as well. When we do return back to lessons, please be patient as we will be asked to spread lessons out so not to spend too much time with one student, and to allow the time to sanitize the car between lessons. To do this we may have to work lessons out on a 7/8 day rotation rather than our usual 5/6 days or to prioritise students who have tests imminent.

We have had many enquiries from new students and will contact anyone who is on our list once we have a clear idea of when we can resume work.

We look forward to the day we can return back to some sort of normality and hope you're all keeping well and safe.
